SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE: I am currently the staff bookkeeper/accountant at the Episcopal Parish of St. Michael and All Angels, where I have gained substantial experience in the nonprofit arena. My accounting career began at two travel agencies, most notably as operations manager for Worldwide Travel, Inc. (1993-2005), where I performed all bookkeeping and accounting functions (including accounts receivable and accounts payable) except for income taxes and certain year-end adjustments as directed by a CPA. After obtaining my degree I accepted a position as staff accountant at First Magnus Financial Corp (2005-2007), handling all payroll, fixed asset and depreciation journal entries and many other allocations. Since FMFC folded in the mortgage crisis, I have worked at Beaudry RV (now in bankruptcy) and in three temporary positions through Robert Half / Accountemps. Over my career I have also designed and compiled numerous reports in Excel and other programs for a variety of users, evaluated and installed new programs and upgrades, and analyzed and improved accounting procedures. |
